According to RavishLondon, “Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Spitalfields constitute the Mecca of London street art; a de facto open air gallery, a ‘square mile of street art’ to compare with the ‘financial square mile’ of the City of London, its southern neighbour.” The RavishLondon map of the East London street art square mile features our project, Shoreditch Station – the former London Underground station is now an impromptu underground art gallery. The images below partially document the evolving ‘exhibitions’ which have occurred over the past 3 years. One, Sod The Rich (an anagram of Shoreditch), is a reminder that the project ought to aspire to ‘sustainable gentrification’…
